2. How did you find out about Peace Boat or the GET programme?
I researched on Google “Awesome Jobs in Japan”.

3. Why did you come on board?
I wanted to travel the world and do something positive.

4. What did you enjoy most about being a GET Teacher?(GETの先生として最も楽しんだことはどんなことですか?)
I enjoyed all my new friends I made and the experiences we shared.

5. How did you spend your time on board? Did you organize any events, and if so, what were they?
I mostly taught on-board and socialized with the passengers.  I did hold some events such as “How to Hug” and “I Spy”.

6. What was your favorite on board event or encounter?
I loved the musical guests and the interesting speakers who came on board to educate us about the world.  The most touching was speaking with the Hibakusha.  I became close with Shigeko Sasamori and learned all the ways to show love in the world.

7. What was your favorite port and what did you do there?(お気に入りの寄港地はどこですか?
Easter Island was my absolute favorite port to visit.  I went around with my friends and took jump shots at all the statues.  It was such a blast.

8. What did you gain from your time with Peace Boat?(ピースボートで過ごした時間から得たものは?)
I learned about the world and all the cultures we visited.  I gained an open mind to new experiences.

9. Where are you now and what do you do?(今はどこにいて、どんなことをしていますか?)
I live outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.  I am currently 8 months pregnant and expecting a little boy in April.  After Peace Boat, I became a travel agent and helped people experience the world.

10. What advice would you give to future teachers?(未来の先生たちへのアドバイスをお願いします。)
Say yes as much as possible, and keep an opened mind.  The experiences you share are the most valuable even after you come home.

11. What advice can you give to a student who wants to improve their English/Español?
Practice makes perfect.  Never stop trying and don’t be afraid to make mistakes.  Learning languages is tough, but you can do it.
